Garden Maintenance
Gardens by Joan offers annual maintenance contracts.
Yearly contracts range from $2,500 per year to $7,500 per year and includes complete and organic horticultural maintenance consisting of the following services, labor, and materials:
- Spring Cleanup
- Pruning of all shrubs and perennials, removal of any winterizing mulch, bagging of detritus and debris, soil cultivation and fertilizer application.
- General Maintenance
- From March 1 to December 1 the site will be visited on a monthly basis to maintain the cleanliness of any planters; perform any necessary pruning and deadheading; monitor and adjust soil moisture content; and monitor, evaluate and treat any disease and/or pest condition.
- Fall Clean-up and Winterizing
- In October through December any special pruning and dividing will be accomplished. A final cleanup and bagging of detritus and debris will be performed; a winter mulch of pine bark or other appropriate material added; and the evergreen shrubs sprayed with an anti-desiccant.
- Annuals
- A selection of spring flowering bulbs will be installed in the fall to provide early to late spring flower displays. A planting of spring and summer flowering annuals will be installed in the late spring to provide a display of flowers and color throughout the summer season. The summer display will be replaced and/or supplemented by appropriate fall blooming annuals to provide color until late fall.
- Watering
- It is the responsibility of the client to accomplish the necessary normal watering of all plantings as per the direction of Gardens by Joan.
- Other Plantings
- Herbaceous plants, shrubs, or trees will be planted upon verbal approval at an additional cost.
- All Materials
- All other materials (soil, mulch, stakes, etc.) can be provided at an additional cost.
- Additional Visits
- Additional site visits not included in contract: $40 per hour per man.
